AI video interviews: prepare answers and ask what is assessed
Check an interview provider's actual process instead of assuming facial expressions reveal employability.
Does every AI interview analyze micro-expressions?
No such universal behavior is established here. A recorded interview, a transcript-based practice tool and an employer assessment are different services. Ask the employer or provider what information is collected and how decisions are made rather than assuming facial expressions determine a score.
Editorial correction: an earlier version implied broad, definitive micro-expression analysis in hiring. That characterization was not adequately supported and has been removed.
What preparation is within my control?
Test your microphone, connection, camera and the platform instructions. Prepare truthful examples related to the role and practice answering a specific question within any stated time limit. Explain your action and the result without inventing details.
Do not train yourself to perform an assumed facial pattern or manipulate an unknown scoring system. Review clarity and relevance and seek human feedback when possible. A practice score is not a prediction of an employer assessment.
What questions should I ask the employer?
Ask what is recorded, who reviews it, whether automated assessment is used, how long recordings are kept and what accommodation or alternative process is available. Requirements and rights vary by location; seek appropriate local advice where needed.
Share no confidential employer or customer information in practice answers. HireOnix's public guidance does not establish the policies of a separate interview provider or its assessment validity.
